Sixth Grade
Sr. Mary Kathleen |
I hope your winter has been one of peace and happiness. I know both you and my sixth graders are eagerly anticipating our return to school on Monday, January 7, 2013. Hopefully, school supplies have been replenished, especially loose leaf and construction paper and pens. Semester tests will take place the week after we return. During the first week we're back, the students will receive study guides to help them prepare for their tests. They should not ignore these study guides as they will help them focus for the tests. Dates for the tests will also be distributed the week we return. Catholic Schools Week is celebrated at the end of January and is always an exciting time at Our Lady. It has become a tradition that my sixth graders choose a project in which they are interested, research it, and create it. It should be about a civilization we have studied or discussed. It should be no larger than a classroom desk and have no living parts, (including water.) It is meant to demonstrate sixth grade work, not parental. I realize there should be some parent involvement if hot glue guns or cutting blades are involved. It is usually a lot of fun to see what ideas they have! I'm looking forward to seeing you at all our Catholic Schools Week events! F.Y.I. Hot lunch orders are due January 7th. If you'd like to come to the Junior High to tell us about your job, please let me know as soon as possible. The return notes were due Dec. 21, and we received one reply. |
